How To Drive Laser Targeted Traffic To Your Affiliate Website
An affiliate marketer who cannot drive laser targeted traffic to his/her affiliate website would certainly not generate any sales. An affiliate marketer may have all the tools necessary for him to succeed online, he may be determined to succeed online, be diligent and be able to persevere, be able to churn out a very attractive looking website, create very unique content. However without traffic all his efforts will be useless because nobody will see his website not to talk of buying from his website. Without traffic an affiliate marketer business will simply sink. All traffic is not created equally. There is ‘Traffic’ and there is also ‘Targeted Traffic’. It will be almost useless driving traffic made up of mothers to a site about how to get pregnant. But it will be better driving traffic made up of newly wedded couples to a website that is about how to get pregnant, hope you get the idea here. Getting people that matter to see one’s affiliate website is a very important aspect of affiliate marketing.
The first method of generating targeted-traffic to ones site is by relying on search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. In this method you simply create pages full of content related to the theme of your website and hope your website or blog will rank high in the SERPs for certain keyword. While just putting up web pages worked well some years ago, they hardly work these days due to the increasing number of websites being created and the increase in competition to rank for almost all keywords (you may not even rank number one for your website name).
Today, in order to rank high for certain keywords and key phrases, you need to do what is called search engine optimization. If you can get your website rank in the top ten for a keyword or key phrase then you are guaranteed free and targeted traffic.
The Second method of targeted traffic generation is by writing articles and submitting them to article directories or other websites online. When you provide a website with a unique article you are given an opportunity to put up a link from the article to your website. For article directories this link is usually placed in a section of the article called the resource box.
The third method is by contacting other webmasters to do a form of link exchange or simply by contacting them to buy an ad space or link on their website.
You can also get visitors to your blog/website by joining an affiliate network and letting others (affiliates do the lead generation for you). The fifth method of getting visitors to your web-address is by having a list of subscribers to your newsletter via an auto-responder. By having a list of subscribers you will be able to generate traffic on demand.
There are so many other advanced traffic-generation strategies which you may want to try as you get more advanced in joint venture marketing. But for now these traffic tactics are good enough to get thousands of visitors to your website.

So what’s the big secret behind a successful article resource box? The way I see it is… Test, test and test again: I have been writing and submitting articles even before the word ‘bum marketing’ was coined, and let me tell you, so far, no one resource box has stuck with me for a very long time.
Even before I start writing the articles, I create at least three resource boxes and store them all in the respective author’s profile at ezinearticles.com (Profile Manager=>Edit Author Resource Boxes); plus I also keep them in a text file as a backup.
When I submit articles, I randomly use a different resource box for each submission. I have noticed that some resource boxes work great for some types of articles, but those same resource boxes won’t work for other types of articles. I have tested different resource boxes, plain text vs. HTML, short vs. long, etc., and in my opinion there is no set formula for creating the perfect resource box.
You need to create several resource boxes, and test each one of them again and again, until you find one successful. That is not the end of the road. You continuously need to develop and test new resource boxes. Who knows you may create something that gives you even better CTR than the one you thought was your ‘best’ resource box?
